Thank
you for visiting the City Arms website – Welcome. The City Arms was
originally The City of Wells Jail and then subsequently
an abattoir.There are those who
would ‘argue’ it therefore was only
a matter of time before the building became a licensed
hostelry.
I have held the Licence since December,2007 and have made substantial improvements and alterations to bring the property up to requirements
of the 21st Century. I believe, with considerable help and guidance,
that improvements constitute evolution and in no way reflect revolution.
Our ethos is one of values, quality, good service and customer
awareness.
We hold dear fresh food, locally sourced, where possible
and fresh fish is a further house speciality together with changing
vegetarian options.
On the subject of ‘wet’ sales, we pride ourselves
on keeping:
7 Real Ales
5 draught Lagers
3 draught Ciders including local Cider such as Ashton Press & Addlestone's
We like to think our range of wines, both by the glass and bottle,
are second to none, with prices and selections to suit all and
sundry.
If you are in the area, please come and visit us and if there
is anything we can do to be of help or service let us know.
Thanks for your visit and time.
